Last Friday and Saturday volunteers from the Ladies Auxiliary and Knights of Columbus were on hand in the church parking lot collecting bags of soft items for our annual Savers FUNDrive. Despite the unseasonably warm weather, everyone was in high spirits as donations piled in.
As usual, the school and parishioners got involved in saving bags of items for this event. This was our most successful FUNDrive to date with over 8000 pounds of soft bagged items collected. The proceeds from this annual event provides the funds we use to support St. John’s School and other local causes in our community. We would not be able to accomplish our mission without support from the parish and school like this. A Huge Thank You for making this a great success!
Mrs. Kutkowski’s Kindergarten class will be awarded a pizza party for bringing in the highest percentage of bags for the school with 68 total bags donated.
A very big Thank you to Hanover Township and Penske for sponsoring this event with the trucks to collect and bring the donations to the Savers in Hoffman Estates. Also, thank you to all the Ladies & Knights that loaded and unloaded the bags. Special recognition goes to Karen Diaz for organizing the Savers FUNDrive and to Al Fuger for organizing the school pizza party.
It’s never too early to start putting aside your donations for next spring’s FUNDrive event.
Our next fundraising event will be our Glitz & Glamour: A Summer Fling on Saturday June 8th . Stop by the Parish Center from 10 AM – 2 PM for some bargains, refreshments, raffles, and fellowship.
