Two annual programs that we conduct for the students of St. John the Evangelist School are being held in December and one in January. The first program is the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship which was held on Saturday December 7 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the parish center.
The contest was open to all boys and girls, ages 9 to 14. The winners in each age bracket will advance to the regional competition.
Saint John’s School students will also participate in the Annual Knights of Columbus “Keep Christ in Christmas” Poster Contest. By engaging the creative talents and imaginations of our young people, we hope they will come to a deeper understanding of the true, spiritual meaning of Christmas. Judging will take place at our council’s Christmas party. The first-place entry will receive a monetary award from the council and the poster will be submitted to the District contest. The Spelling Bee will be held in conjunction with Catholic Schools week. Thank you to the school staff for supporting these programs.
Our council feels privileged to work closely with the faculty of St. John’s School to host these programs for our students. All the students in both programs are winners in our eyes, since they share their talents, and are learning skills that will last them for their lives. Thank you to the parents that also supported them.
In order to continue offering these and other programs run by the Knights and Ladies Auxiliary, we need new members. Please prayerfully consider joining our organizations.
