News from your Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary
Thank You St. John's Parishioners
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence. St. John the Evangelist School was recognized in 2014 as one of the chosen recipients of the Blue Ribbon Award. Father Ted, in one of his last acts, went to Washington, D.C. to receive the award from the U.S. Department of Education.
Catholic Schools Week 2024 started the last Sunday in January and was an opportunity for the parish community to see what a great Catholic education their children are obtaining at St. John the Evangelist School. What better way to showcase the school, than to hold the Knights of Columbus Annual Spellilng Bee during that week? Contestants gatherd in Kyle Hall, along with their teacher, parents, and Knights on Thursday, February 1st at 1:00 p.m. for a SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS contest.
As usual, it was a hard battle to determine who would rank on top. And the winners are 1st place - Leighann, 7th grade, 2nd place - Max, 5th grade and 3rd place - Tymek, 7th grade. Winners will be recognized at the awards dinner at the end of the school year.
